Trowbridge awarded their prize for ‘Best Cadet’ in their area

On Tuesday 19th January, the Trowbridge branch of the Royal Air Forces Association awarded their prize for ‘Best Cadet’ in their area to Cadet Sergeant Alice Wynne of 2196 (Trowbridge) Squadron ATC.

As well as representing her squadron and wing in numerous sports, Sgt Wynne is a flight commander and recently qualified as a Master Cadet. Last year she participated in a prestigious International Air Cadet Exchange  to the Netherlands, and later this year she and her sister, Cadet Corporal Caitlin Wynne, will be taking part in a cross-channel swim by a team of ten Air Cadets to mark the 75th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps.

The prize was presented to Sgt Wynne by Air Vice Marshal Martin Clark RAF CB, President of the RAFA Trowbridge branch.

Another Sword In The Purbeck

This year Dorset Wilts Wing of the Air Training Corps won the Millennium Peace Sword for Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Cadets in the Purbeck on 2185(Wareham) Squadron and 2185(Swanage) Detached Flight played a major part in this success.sword 3

So far this year the units achieved 2 Gold awards, 2 Silver awards and 8 Bronze awards, with more to be completed.

The Millennium Sword was brought to the Squadron Dining In Night by the Wing Duke of Edinburgh Award Officer Flt Lt Gary Lewry.
