LGBT+ Pride Month

As you may well be aware June marks LGBT+ Pride month, a day for celebrating the identities and input of lesbian, gay, bi and trans colleagues in society, as well as celebrating equality, diversity, and inclusivity.

Pride is held due to the unconditional belief is that all forms of discrimination thrive in an atmosphere of silence and ignorance, and that once people know that they have loved ones who are Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Non-binary or any other minority sexual orientation or gender identity, they are far less likely to maintain homophobic or oppressive views.

It the ambition of RAFAC Aspire to get a number of personnel to “come out” in support of LGBT+ people, either as allies or people who self identify and will utilise this to form part of a press release/post on social media for the month.

We are looking for a short video or written outline from individuals talking about why LGBT+ identities matter, the importance of equality, diversity and inclusivity, recognising difference and celebrating LGBT+ identities, and the importance of pride to them.

Entries welcomed by all RAFAC Pers Staff, CFAV and cadets should be sent to by no later than Fri 14 Jun 2019
